Wildaid

WildAid, is a nonprofit that is a global leader in reducing demand for illegal wildlife products such as ivory, rhino horn and shark fin and I am very pleased to be a member of the Board of Trustees.  WildAid has been extraordinarily successful in changing attitudes and sharply reducing demand for shark fin soup in China. Since WildAid began running its educational campaigns in 2008, demand for shark fin soup has plummeted by 80 percent and shark fin imports into China have decreased by 81 percent. www.wildaid.org

WildAid also has a superb Marine Program that is focused on creating highly effective, well-enforced marine protected areas (MPAs). WildAid Marine has pioneered a complete marine protection system to fix the nearly 60 percent of designated MPAs that do not have effective enforcement and are vulnerable targets for illegal fishing and poaching. They have set an ambitious goal to protect 250 MPAs in the next five years. www.wildaid.org/marine
